New Patent-Pending Raider Operates Without Transfer Pumps

June 2006 – Apopka, FL -  Polymer Processing Company successfully conducted testing and verification of the latest 3-way Material Supply Valve for the RS-303. Raider Series ALL-Pressure Foam and Coatings Machines.

Three Tests Conducted:

TEST 1 - Pressure Feed from Drum Pumps
PPC successfully tested 1:1 drum pump feed with NO bypass or cavitation issues. PPC recommends that the pump’s outbound pressure be set between 50 to 60 PSI to feed the RAIDER series machines. The new material supply valve bypasses the tank for direct to machine supply such as drums, pales or totes.

TEST 2 - Siphon Feed From 55-Gallon Drums
Another test was run using 48” (inches) of ¾ diameter single wire hose from the upright drum to the RAIDER, with 36” of ¾ steel pipe submerged in the drum. No problems were encountered in lifting the material out of the drum and transferring it through the new valve on the bottom of the RAIDER.

The material siphoned was 2-pound closed-cell water-blown foam, Only about 10 gallons of material were in the drum, demonstrating that the RAIDER’s new pumps are capable of lifting materials from the bottom of a 55-gallon drum.

TEST 3 - Siphon Feed From 55-Gallon Buckets
In the next test, material was siphoned from 5-gallon buckets using a 30” of ¾ -inch convoluted steel hose, feeding directly to the diverter valve.  Operation was successful once again.

Summary
The new 3-way Material Supply Valve for the Raider Series “ALL-Pressure” Foam and Coatings Machines will work seemlessly from pressure fed, and siphon feed, sources.  Now you have the option to completely bypass the RAIDER’s tanks to accommodate different material supply requirements.
